The former butler of Britain's Princess Diana, is moving back to his native England after a stint in the US because he misses fish and chips.

He said: "I came back because I miss beer and fish and chips. I'm a realist and I know that not everybody likes everybody but I only get positive reactions on the streets."

The 52-year-old - who owns a florist shop in Cheshire, North West England - has remained a controversial figure in the life of Princess Diana, after he was acquitted of stealing from her estate in 2002.

I came back because I miss beer and fish and chips. I'm a realist and I know that not everybody likes everybody but I only get positive reactions on the streets.

Since his time with the princess, Paul has appeared on a number of reality TV shows including 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' and 'American Princess' - where he was widely panned by US television critics.

In December it was reported that Paul was having trouble selling his house and florist business and he wanted to cut ties with the UK.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Selling his house in England was already proving a headache for Paul, but it's been made worse by the fact he can't sell his business premises either. As hard as he tries, it seems he can't sever his links with England."
