If this CD is an opening shot in a new effort to take musical theatre more main stream to listeners, then personally I think they've got the balance and image right to make it work. They've all got great individual voices and I like the fact that this recording doesn't try and hide or gloss them - they don't need it.
The album has a good classic mix of musical theatre, but it's also got a great backing from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. My only criticism is the balance between backing and vocals could be tweaked sometimes, and I would quite like to have heard some less well-known tracks, but it's their first album so meh.
The new arrangements are welcome as something else to prick your ears up, but it's certainly a deserved 5 stars just for the artists' astonishing vocal quality: there's proper skill and years of training & experience in there to be appreciated from these performers - and it's a quality result. Nuff said.

What a tag they put on themselves from the off. A lot of pressure must have been on these lads but I am telling you now, they have pulled this off.
I have worked in music for 32 years and wasn't sure whether this type of thing would work. How wrong I was.
I strongly recommend everyone out there to buy this album, you won't be dissapointed!

Got this cd for xmas plus an ipod from my sons.... am thrilled to bits with it and today am vegging and listening to it again all day as yesterday we were all ill with food poisining.. rubbish christmas but this cd has more than made up for it!!!!! Recommend it for anyone who has any vouchers to spend.

What a great idea this is! An album full of musical theatre songs sung by musical theatre professionals. I glad to report it is just as good as i hoped. saw these guys on the royal variety couple of weeks ago and they were jsut class- as is the album
