Rafael Nadal has admitted that he is already looking forward to the U.S. Open.
The Spaniard picked up his eighth Grand Slam title at the weekend as he won his second Wimbledon title and while he had only had a couple of day to let his achievement sink in he is already looking ahead to the final grand Slam of the year.
The U.S. Open is the only Grand Slam that still eludes him, he has reached the semi final for the last two years, and a win at Flushing Meadows would see him complete the career Grand Slam.
Speaking to Sky Sports the world number one said: "I would like to win all four Grand Slams.
"The US Open will be the most difficult but after winning here (Wimbledon) for a second time it is a goal I will have for the rest of my career.
"I will try to prepare well but it will be very difficult to play well in New York. But I have had two semi-finals in the last two years there so I am not very far away."
What a difference twelve months make as a year ago his 2009 season was in tatters after once again being plagued by knee injuries, the tendonitis saw him lose in the fourth round at the French Open before having to pull out of Wimbledon.
After suffering with knee injuries again at the beginning of the year the Spaniard has battled back to form and has been the in form player on the tour during the clay season.
Nadal picked up three Masters titles in Monte Carlo, Rome and Madrid before going on to reclaim his French Open crown, a title he won for the fifth time.
With that win in Paris he reclaimed the world number one spot, a position he consolidated at the weekend when he lifted the Wimbledon title.
And while Nadal has the U.S. Open title in his sights he is aware that he has to have a good period of rest if he wants to get his hands on the title.
"Now I have one month of holidays at home in Mallorca with family and friends. I love this part of the season and it gives me time to recover.
"If I rest well I think I can play a good American season. I will think about the US Open in one month. I will keep working to try to be finally ready to win.
"For sure the US Open is my goal but right now it is to enjoy the beach, fishing, golf, friends and party in Mallorca."
