Roger Federer Questions Rafa Nadal's #1 Desire

Roger Federer claims that Rafael Nadal doesn't have the same drive to be world number one.

Federer recaptured the number one spot last summer after Nadal was unable to defend his French and Wimbeldon titles due to injury.

Since then Federer has claimed his sixteenth Grand Slam title beating Andy Murray in the Australian Open final back in January.

Despite all the Grand Slam success that he has enjoyed over the years Federer's main goal is stay at the top of the rankings.

In an interview with Reuters Federer said: "I'll try [to win all four], that's for sure. But it's not even number one on my to-do list. I'll just try to defend my No. 1 position.

"The first moment when I became No. 1 in the world was six years ago now and it was a magical moment in my career. It was pretty special and I always wanted to get back there.

"Some people have that drive more than others who've been number one. Rafa doesn't seem like he cares as much for number one, or he doesn't show it."

The Swiss player claimed the world number one spot for the first time back in 2004 and held the position for 237 weeks before he lost it to Nadal in 2008, the Spaniard also took his Wimbeldon crown.
